The judge for the preliminary hearing Nicola Aiello sentenced her husband and wife respectively to 10 years and 4 years and 8 months for the attempted murder of her only three months old son. The public prosecutor Giorgia Spiri had requested eight years in prison for her father and four years and eight months for her mother. For the woman he had reformulated the charge: he was accused of attempted murder in competition with his father but to have retracted the first statements in which he accused her husband. The judge, on the other hand, decided to start from a higher sentence for the father in consideration of the appraisals carried out in recent years on the damages to the child. The defense experts in the court argued that the injuries were caused by trauma during childbirth. The consultants appointed by the judge Nicola Aiello were the opposite. Of course there is that the child, now entrusted to his grandfather, has a cerebral palsy and a serious mental retardation that will mark him for life. In the ruling the judge also ordered the perpetual interdizone from the public offices and the legal ban during the sentence, in addition to the suspension of the parental exercise already lost by the parents immediately after the start of the investigation. The lawyer Alberto Sbacchi, leaving the courtroom said: "We will appeal on appeal, everything is false".
